Very Good Point. I wasnt necessarily meaning to force your kids down a particular path but wanted to point out the opportunities for those looking for a career with a solid future they should look towards the medical field , nursing in particular.

While it is certainly important to provide support for our kids as they begin to make choices about future careers, many young people are not ready for career choices as they enter college. They also may very well change their preference as their education and growth advances.

The reality is our world will look nothing like it does today in two years, much less four. One of the failings of current system of education is that we are educating young people for jobs that will not even exist and preparing them for life in a way that emphasizes achievement over fulfillment. Case in point- Consider the decline in arts and creative learning opportunities. We are killing off the most important aspect of the lives of our young people – creativity.

As the Founder and President of Dreams for Kids, for over twenty years I witnessed the sad reality of an education system and parental control which have combined to disempower our youth. In preparing our children for a full life, we should be providing them with the best opportunities to choose a path which enriches their lives and their community and connects them to the world, and do so at a pace which comes naturally for them.
